A camera HUD for tabletop RPGs

Your sheet.
On air.

Vellum puts your live character sheet on your own Discord camera. Hope, HP, Stress and conditions ride your video tile, where the whole table is already looking.

How it works

You are the broadcast.

Each player runs their own Vellum. It draws your HUD, OBS lays it over your webcam, and OBS's Virtual Camera hands the finished picture to Discord as your camera. Nobody else installs anything, and no copy of Vellum talks to another.

The rundown

What's on, and what's next.

Live is in the app today. Next is being built now. Later is planned. The roadmap has the full list.

Your HUD is your camera

Live

OBS draws the HUD over your webcam and its Virtual Camera carries it into Discord. The table sees your stats on your own tile.

More

Pick a frame per game

Next

Choose an official or community frame for each game. Your choice rides in the same link, so OBS picks it up.

More

The Frame Library

Next

Official frames from us, community frames by pull request. Every frame ships inside the app, so picking one contacts no server.

More

Hotkeys

Next

Load one script in OBS and bind keys to +1 Hope, mark HP, toggle a condition. Your hands stay on the game.

More

Light face tracking

Next

Widgets can follow your face: a crown over your head, a nameplate under your chin. Off by default, and the camera never leaves your machine.

More

The frame creator

Later

Drag widgets onto the real HUD, bind them to stats, choose bars or chits, and preview at Discord tile size. Your frames stay yours.

More

Frames

One HUD, a frame per game.

A frame is the look: colors, where each widget sits, and whether a stat draws as a bar or as chits. Pick one from the Library, or build your own.

Frames are data, never code, and every frame keeps two rules: labels stay readable on a tiny Discord tile, and everything reads from the edge of the frame toward your face.

Control

Hands on the game, not the mouse.

Mark HP, spend Hope and flip conditions from a hotkey or a Stream Deck key. Every input sends the same command, so a click, a key and a button all do exactly the same thing.

Light face tracking

Widgets that find your face.

Turn it on and a frame can anchor widgets to you: Hope over your head, a nameplate under your chin, a condition glow around your face. Turn it off and they fall back to fixed spots.

Tracking runs on your machine in a small model. Camera frames never leave it.

Strictly local

Nothing leaves your machine.

No account, no server, no telemetry, no relay. This is how Vellum is built, not a setting.

No account

There is nothing to sign up for.

No upload

Your sheet lives in your browser and in your own link.

No relay

Each player's Vellum stands alone. Hotkeys talk to OBS on localhost.

Camera stays home

Face tracking reads frames on your machine and keeps none.

Quick start

Four steps to the table.

  1. Open Vellum

Open the app in your browser. Pick your game and whether you're a player or the GM.

  2. Fill your sheet

Enter your character, then copy your share link. Your whole sheet packs into it.

  3. Drop it into OBS

Import the Vellum scene collection and paste your link. Works on macOS, Windows and Linux.

  4. Go on camera

Start OBS's Virtual Camera and pick it in Discord. Your face, with your stats on it.
